I got this last night and it was so funny and I realized I had no friends who would understand it. then I thought, sure I do. I have this group. So, for nothing more than shared friendship, I offer this ditty:
I've sure gotten old!
I've had two bypass surgeries, a hip replacement,
new knees, fought prostate cancer and diabetes.
I'm half blind,
can't hear anything quieter than a jet engine,
take 40 different medications that
make me dizzy, winded, and subject to blackouts.
Have bouts with dementia.
Have poor circulation;
hardly feel my hands and feet anymore.
Can't remember if I'm 85 or 92.
Have lost all my friends. But, thank God,
I still have my driver's license.
I happened to be changing my dad's pamper in the morning before I go to work when I saw this on the HLN or Good Morning America show. As it was playing, I started laughing so hard, my dad got mad. He wanted me to concentrate on his pamper and not the TV.
When I saw this discussion about A Little Levity, I thought of these videos. If you google below - there is test drive 1 (where Jeff does a test drive on a car with the car salesman with him) and Test Drive 2 (where a journalist claimed it was a fake video - so Jeff pulled the prank on Him.) Of the 2, I liked part 2 best. For someone so terrified, he was still a very polite man! =)

So, when the guy 50 Cent threw the opening ball at the NY Mets game, and it went really wide to the left, I started laughing so hard while changing dad's pamper. Dad was mad at me because for the rest of the time changing his pamper, I kept laughing as I replayed 50 Cent's wild throw to the left.
my dad's comment when I said you could kill yourself if you drove was "well, id die happy". wrong.. I just parked my car behind his so he couldn't get out. long enough so that he stopped fighting. my neighbor was ready to pull a plug in the engine if I had to move my car... but he finally stopped insisting....
Unfortunately its also sad and true. My Grandfather killed himself, and a young Mother behind the wheel. We took Mom's car away a few yrs ago. It was a fight, but worth it.
