If you decide to go with caregivers go through an agency. If you hire caregivers on your own you have to deal with taxes and background checks and insurance and all kind of little details before you can have a caregiver in your home.

If you go through an agency all of that's done for you. The price is competitive. And they'll send out a nurse to do an assessment and then find appropriate caregivers for you. If one gets sick they'll try to replace her. If you hire on your own and one gets sick you have to take off work because you may not have back-up.

Your husband requires an extraordinary amount of care. It may be difficult hanging on to caregivers but it's worth a shot if you'd like to keep him at home for as long as you can.
