So my mother-in-law had her leg amputated a couple of weeks ago. I am trying to get her back on Medicaid so she can come home and I can take care of her. What is the best way to go about doing this so she can come home?

All you can do is try to get her "in home care" again. I hope with the big rise in the cost of living, their income guidelines have changed. Contact your Social Service office and talk to a Medicaid caseworker.

Your MIL will probably go to Rehab to learn how to get around on one leg.

Medicaid is unlikely to pay for in home care in many states. As it is a combined federal/state program it is important to fully understand the rules for your own state. Missouri will have it's own Medicaid phone number and website. Do access this online. In almost all things elder-care, the internet is your friend.

Thank you they paid me for 3 years and then suddenly dropped me as taking care of her. They said the income guidelines changed and even with spend-down she made too much money. I just don't know how to go about asking because the people I worked for said she should have never been dropped from Medicaid. Any more advice?
