Find Care & Housing
From the internet:

"The main differences between memory care and nursing homes are:
Memory care is exclusively for people with dementia, while nursing homes are for people with almost any medical issue that makes living at home too difficult.
Nursing homes offer a more clinical, hospital-like setting while memory care is more home-like.
Memory care is specialized care that is only given to people who are experiencing memory loss, while nursing homes can assist older people who are experiencing memory loss as well as those with other medical issues.
Memory care communities tailor care and lifestyle specifically for the unique needs of those with memory loss, while nursing homes focus on providing individualized care that improves health outcomes, maintains dignity and provides comfort.
Both memory care and nursing homes provide 24-hour care, supervision, and meals. Staff members also help with activities of daily living (ADLs), such as bathing, dressing, and medication management."

Here are a few differences between MLTC and NHTD:

·MLTC is a managed care entity (insurance company funded by the state)
·NHTD, is ran by the State directly (RRDC)

·MLTC is used for people in need for an aid between 15 to 91 hours per week.
The average approval runs between 25 and 35 hours per week.
·With NHTD, you get 24/7 care

·MLTC enrollment process runs between 1 to 2 months
·NHTD enrollment process runs between 3 to 4 months

·Eligibility criteria for NHTD is more complex than MLTC, you need to have some dementia dx and not be bed bound.

Managed long term care needn't necessarily involve long term care facilities. Nursing Home transition does.
