Do you still have beds available? I live in Huntsville Texas and am in desperate need for a hospital bed for my Mother. We are awaiting Medicare approval. And she needs one badly.

Google 'lending library' for DME/durable medical equiptment-some places now have nonprofit organizations who will let you rent for free (as long as you need it) everything from fully electric hospital beds to different types of wheelchairs etc-theres also nonprofits like the ALS Association that i believe have lending libraries

Jusyes: Perhaps the individual's physician can write an RX for it wherein it could be covered by insurance.,

If this is a medical necessity either for the person that is going to be using it or for the safety or either person the patients doctor can write an order for a hospital bed and it will be covered by insurance.

If you find one on Facebook marketplace chances are it will NOT have a mattress. Most places that would normally take used medical equipment will not take a bed because they can not take a used mattress.

Check with your local Senior Center they may have a bulletin board where people can post things like this.

If the person is eligible for Hospice then Hospice will provide one along with all the other equipment that would be needed.

Likely you will have to find / network with a person who died.
This may sound creepy, however no one / organization will take a recyced bed such as: (GoodWill / health equipment recycling, etc. will take beds).
Perhaps contact retirement homes - where people need to purchase their own to let family members know of your interest. Families emptying apartments will be VERY HAPPY to hear from you as they would otherwise need to dump and pay a person to take to the dump and then the dumping fees.

We just tried selling one on Facebook Marketplace and were removed because it is against their policy. However, Craigslist will let you.

Our church has a free medical equipment loaning service. Maybe there is something similar in your community.

Kee.p looking until you find an all electric one you’ll be glad you did. As JoAnn mentioned with a prescription from your doctor straight Medicare rental is $25.00 a month for all electric for a year after which you own it. Don’t know about advantage plans. Good luck.

Im not sure if this is helpful to you, nor do I know how much hospital beds cost. Amazon sells adjustable twin XL bed frames for a very reasonable price. While you can't raise and lower it, the upper and lower parts of the bed adjust for comfort and the one I bought for dad has an app that I can control it with my smartphone too. It can notify me if the bed has been in one position for too long so that I can take action to prevent bed sores.
The mattress choices are also very convenient now, bed-in-a-box. You can choose what materials it's made of and provide for cooling, air movement, thickness, firmness, and not have the discomfort of plastic beds from hospital mattresses. If you're concerned with urine, they have mattress pads now that are luxurious covers and do a wonderful job.
Good luck to you.

If you are on Medicare they will pay for one with a doctor's order. Its rented until it goes over the initial cost and then its yours.

Check your local Senior Service Center they may have a lending closet.
Facebook Marketplace is another option.
Getting the bed might not be the difficult part but getting a mattress. Many places will take the bed but no one wants to accept a used mattress.
A Hospital bed if medically necessary will generally be covered by insurance the doctor needs to write an order for it (like a prescription). While most places that have hospital beds will rent them they do sell them as well.
