God don't make no mistakes, he knows what we're going through and will be right there for us all.

I'm late in adding a response but I was wondering if you'd contacted your local newscasters. I have seen a lot of request for help and the news are a very good resource for you to go too. They will put your story on the air and watch how God will work for you.

It's worth a try and I hope this suggestion helps.

You and your hubby are close to my heart and GOD's.

Some of us need a smack from GOD to come to him. I did. I was 44 yrs old and had made a mess of my life before I woke up. As I once told Secret sister: Having grown on a farm with sheep I should have known...Shepards don't use hooks & staffs so much anymore, they use dogs. My Shepard sent the dogs after me when I was lost....I'm sooooo grateful now but at the time it was true hell. HE gives us free will & will leave us to our own devises if that is what we want. Some of us are stubborn and have to come to the end of ourselves before we are ready to start anew. I pray others have more sense than I but whatever it takes.....as long as they come to HIM. I wasted sooo many years I won't get back, but now I finally have the instruction & guidance I always needed. A late bloomer but blooming just the same. LOL through tears.
All glory to HIM.

I agree! I couldn't help but think of what you had said about Him being an onltime God! The message was not olny good, but timely!

I'm also praying for His soon return, but we have children who need to come to Him first, as you probably have family members who need to come to Him, too. It would break my heart for them not to make it!

At the funeral Saturday, one of the ministers made it a point of giving the plan of salvation several times & told the sons that their dad had come to him several times asking him to pray for the 3 sons for salvation. If they made a decision, they didn't make it know. If that doesn't move them to make a decision, what would it take?!?!

Please keep my husband in your prayers today...the tremors are pretty bad.

Thanks again for your insight, encouragement & your prayers! They mean a lot!

GODhelpus, our pastor preached tonight on Daniel in the lions den & the title of the message was "Faith in the Fire"! How timely was that?!?! Thank you so much for your words of encouragement & for agreeing with me in prayer!!! You be blessed, too!

wesands, thank you so much for your help & insight! Hadn't thought about calling our congressman! My husband already received SS disability, it's just not enough to make ends meet!! Thanks again!

Please be sure you are using all the resources available ... check into Social Security Disability, ask your congressman, Older American Act grants, call Legal Aid, look into Veteran benefits if either of you served during a war time, etc. Local Alzheimer's Groups are usually very helpful and eventually Parkinson's ends in dementia, either the disease itself or due to the meds ... the path is the same and Parkinson's or any dementia is a disability. Local support groups, if you are in an urban area, are wonderful otherwise the internet. "Savvy Caregiver" training is a great resource. Take care of the care giver first.

GPeach,
Only HE can answer that. All I know is what HIS word says....HIS ways are not our ways...A year for us is as a second to HIM....
GOD's timing rarely coincides with what we would chose, but HE's a GOD of "just in time". We must "believe we have and we shall receive".

I found out the hard way: "Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding, HE will make your path straight".
There are many things I don't need to know or understand, just trust in HIM. It's working for me.

"If any two agree in prayer....". I am agreeing with you now that you will find financial aide & you and your family will have health & peace.
Keep trusting & be blessed.

Hi GODhelpus & tennismc4!

Thank you for your prayers, more than you know! Trying to be faithful...sometimes it's difficult! I've been a Christian for many years. Maybe you can answer something for me. God is able to do all things, right? And if you're a Christian, we can ask anything in Jesus' name & He says that He'll do it. (John 14:14) And if we're His children, I don't want my child to be sick & would do what was necessary that I could do for them to be well...I''ve prayed, time & time again, but my husband is still sick, our home is at risk & I still don't have a job. Why hasn't God moved on our behalf? How in the world will He be glorified in my husband staying sick & us losing our home? I just don't understand...

Hi Lilli,

Thank you for your insight! We have already done the process of taking equity out of our home. That's one of the problems, in that now we have to repay the loan. We still have some equity, but the band has declined because of our income & ability to repay. I have checked into the reverse mortgage & were declined because although my husband is 62 & would qualify with his age, I'm only 48 & they won't do it unless both parties are at least 62. I'm glad that the reverse is working for your cousin!

I am looking for a job & hopefully will find one soon. I hate to leave my husband to work, but don't have a choice if we're to stay in our home.

Don't know what we'd do without our furries!

Peace to you, too!

Georgia: have you considered a second mortgage? or dipping into your equity for a loan?
Also, my cousin is doing the "reverse mortgage." From my understanding, she can still live in the home, receives a monthly "stipend" and can stay in her home even if the equity is eaten up. However, many companies charge steep initiation fees and you do pay interest. So, be careful if you go this route. So far, she is pleased with the result.
Good luck...the furies seem to find us when are the most vulnerable.
Peace,
Lilli

Hi vhamilton & GODhelpus!

v, yes, I am a Christian & feel like I pray so much that God sayd, "Oh, it's you again"! smile! Thank you for adding us to your prayers! I am in the process of trying to find a job, but they are very scarce around here! That will help us tremendously, if I were to find one! It will be very difficult to leave my husband while I work, but I don't have a choice!

helpus, my husband receives disability of $1193. per month & it helps, but just isn't enough to meet our household expenses. Thanks for praying, too...for all of us! I, too have been praying for God's unmerited favor! I know that things will work out in His timing & in HIs way, just want to hang on until then! Not sure that I'm being such a great witness for Him, right now. Trying to trust & be faithful, but it's difficult! Thanks agian for your prayers!

Is your Husband getting Social Security? You can get it staring at age 62 but at a reduced rate.
He should also be eligible for SS Disability if he does not receive it already.

Praying for us. GOD's divine favor & protection to you.

I have a friend in your same boat. Her husband suffers from Alzheimers. I do not know if you are spiritual or not, but the only advice I have is :prayer". I will keep you and yours in mine. I am so sorry you have to suffer through this. Some day we will get our reward.

Hi PirateGal! Thank you SO much for your information & for your thoughts! You're right that this should be the least of my worries! I feel that this problem is taking so much of my thoughts & concerns that it's taking part of "me" away from caring for my husband...there's just so much of me to go around! This should be a time devoted to taking care of him! The web-site that you listed has some very helpful information on it! There is even one part that has a frequently asked questions section that was helpful. There is a lot of information to digest, but it is giving me more insight & ideas of what is possible! Thank you again!

Very Stressed...I really feel for you...it's frightening enough for your dear hubby to be so ill with the extra thought of ripping your home from under your heels. Right now is the time where that should be the least of your worries..how terrible. They say on tv that you are supposed to go to your bank and talk to them one on one about making arrangement. This is what the banks are supposed to be doing to help everyone SINCE WE BAILED THEIR ARSES out. If talking to the bank does not help then I would think your congressman may be able to help.

The easiest way to do a fundraiser is to find a restaurant, ask them to donate a part of their sales for a specific day or two, and in return all of your friends and family will eat there. They get someone marketing for them, and bringing in extra business they wouldn't have, and they donate 15% of their sales to the fundraiser. You have my email, and I would be more than happy to help. "Sometimes courage is the quiet voice at the end of the day saying, "I will try again tomorrow." ~Mary Anne Radmacher.

Hi Rip! Thank you! I'm not coping too well today! I keep running into brick walls with different places that I'm trying. I keep hearing that I'm not the only one with problems, & even the well-to-do are seeking help! I will continue, though!
I understand about feeling isolated! This group is the best thing I've found in a long time! My husband has friends that call every day to check on him, but I had a state liscensed day care for years, in our home, so I didn't have co-workers to be friends with. And with taking care of my husband for the past several years I don't have an outlet for friendships...they are few & far between! Most of who I considered friends have stepped away because of the illness & not wanting to "bother" me! Maybe they're just scared or don't know what to say, but anything would be an improvement over the deafening silence!
OK, enough pity-party! Life goes on! How is your Dad tonight?
Thanks again for everything!

Hi! Terry, thank you for your suggestion & your prayers!

And AlzCaregiver, thank you for saying it! It's hard & unfair! My husband is my best friend & we've been married for 20 years today! It's VERY difficult seeing him change from the once strong man I married to the man who now needs my help for everything! You are SO right...life is unfair! I feel like we're in the middle of the ocean, in a lifeboat & the sharks are circling! I'm sorry, I'm finding it more difficult to be positive about anything!

Thank everyone, again, for your positive comments & prayers, though! They are really helping me not to feel like I'm so alone!

Hi BMC & rettajane! Thank you so much for your insight & care! I will do an online search for non-profits here. Thank you for your offer, BMC, to help with a fundraiser. Just not sure how to go about it! rettajane, I appreciate your hug, too!

You should do an online search for non-profits in your area. I know in Dallas we have one that will give financial aid to those in need. Also, if your husband was ever in the military, he can get monetary VA benefits. If you want to have a fundraiser, I will be more than willing to help you. If you need anything, let me know.

Dear Ed, Thank you SO much for your information! I am in the process of finding out what the foundation, that you suggested, can help with. From what I am understanding they will help with things like wheelchairs, & lift chairs, etc., but not financially with mortgages. The information is also helpful, though, as they can assist with items that will help to give him quality of life! So important! So many things that we take for granted! Again, thank you so much for your help!
