She lost all forms of legal I.D.'s(have copies). Mom 77 immigrated(legally) into the USA on January of 1967, and is now a Naturalized Citizen. She lived in Florida for a few years and has always been a very indipendent hard working woman, and in Jan. of this year(2014) flew her to Tuc. AZ. because she needed to be with family and it was getting dangerous, as she was found wondering LOST on a not so safe neighborhood, and what a fiascal that was to get her here! She has some form of Dimentia...Don't know her short term memory seems most affected, she repeats things a lot. She lost her I.D. originals such as SSN, Naturalization Cert. etc. so to fly her here she was given a temp I.D. just for flight. I knew to take her to SSN office and try to get new orig. and was advised to go to Immigration to get that doc. first and also the local Department of Vehicle Div. for an I.D. got nowhere! We Submitted for her Naturalization Orig. with copies of documentation requested on form plus almost $400. and after almost 6 months WITHOUT an update or answer(BECAUSE THEY WON'T GIVE YOU ANY UPDATE!) We finally get letter giving us till November to come up with originals and in addition proof of Death Cert. for her late husband, which of course we cannot get without any form of I.D., (which might possibly have to get in Mexico where his family took him, and without propper docs. she can't go there either). In addition the NOTICE also makes sure to notify mom that the fee will NOT BE REFUNDED if she does'nt come up with ALL they request. She cannot afford this!!!!... So how can I help her. She desparately needs to be seen by Dr. and am currently in need of Adult Day Care for her since I also need to go to work during day. My brother and I take turns 2weeks each and we struggle with getting what she needs without propper Identification. Mom Has Medicare and had Medicaid back in FL. but now needs to apply for Medicaid in AZ.....How can I go about this? I have run into a wall every time. I ASK...How can an IILLIGAL Individual get so many services including Medical, and mom who has done the right thing and has worked hard all her life cannot get anywhere now....Her RECORDS are all there! Immigration found her in their system her apperance is very recognizeable as well, so what else??? Appreciate any feedback...Desparate!!! MS
If you have copies of all her ID's it should be very easy to get replacements. It is just a step by step process with each group you are dealing with. Decide which one to get first and then move on to the next. Start with Immigration and take everything you have when you meet with them. You might call first and ask for assistance. You can complete replacement form N-565 at online website us-immigration/replace-certificate-of-citizenship-form-N565.jsp?

If someone suggested she get a state I.D., then take her into Motor Vehicles and get one. Bring the copies of what you have and some utility bills in her name. Without knowing what state you're from, that's the best I can advise. Include your state, and I'll see if I can find you a link.
