My beloved mother has misplaced her purse. She discovered it was missing on Thursday afternoon when we were leaving to go to my cousins house. She still can't find it and wants me to help look for it. I never touch her purse and I try not to go into their room because IF she is missing so much as $1 or a paper clip she accuses me.
This is a big deal because the remaining cash from her pension check, checkbook, along with all her store credit cards and her drivers license and other ID were in that purse. This is bad, Very, VERY BAD!!
What if the CNA that hospice sent, on Wednesday, to bathe my dad took it?? She was a substitute and not the regular girl.
Unfortuntley these things do happen, but please make absoultely sure before you take any further action.... but if in fact the purse is gone....notify the agency of your suspiscions....
In another case, a woman noticed her mother was taking things to a certain hiding place. The woman would retrieve them from the hiding place whenever her mother reported them stolen.
I don't know how advanced your mother's dementia is, but can you think of any secret hiding place she might favor? This happens sometimes with dementia. Have you checked her credit card accounts to see if there has been any activity on the cards? I hope not.
Fingers crossed the purse shows up today.
