TrustingGod2, time to take hubby to see his primary doctor to see if the doctor can recommend meds to calm him down. I think that would be your first option.

Usually the verbal abuse is a phase that will past in time, quickly I hope for your sake. If you can budget this, maybe have a caregiver come in to help with hubby while you get a chance to do things you want. To get out of the house. Any nearby family members who could help. If your husband is verbally abuse to the caregiver, that won't work.

Does hubby try to start arguments? If yes, with dementia it is best to just agree with whatever he says, even if you know whatever he was talking about never happened. Unless he is one that will rant for hours. If at any time you feel he is threatening you, don't be afraid to call 911 and let the EMT's take him to the hospital. Then tell the hospital you are afraid to bring him back home. The hospital social worker will find hubby a facility where he can stay, and possibly get help with his verbal abuse.

You should talk to an attorney. The laws in your state may or may not let you divorce him.
