Igloo has been writing and commenting on this for some time.
Logistically and in every other way, moving an elder to another state is a complete nightmare.
Do try to find some of her comments on recent posts. From the standpoint of residency, of re qualifying for Medicaid in another state which has completely different sets of rules, it is just simply a nightmare.
Do go up to the search bar on the timeline and look up "Moving Senior on Medicaid to another state" and you will see a ton of comments, unfortunately very few that show success.

I can only wish you the best of luck.

Have you consulted the Pennsylvania Office of Long-Term Living about how to go about getting Mom into a facility and Medicaid? The DHS HelpLine number is 1-800-692-7462.

If they can't refer you to legal assistance about the multi-state accounts and sibling stuff, the SeniorLaw program (717-783-1550) is available to residents aged 60 or more. If you're younger than 60, try the Pennsylvania Legal Aid Network (PLAN) at 717-236-9486 or 800-322-7572

Hopefully those resources will make your challenge less of a nightmare. Best wishes to you and your family.
